The Purple mattress is 100% non-toxic and our high-density polyurethane foam is CertiPUR-US certified, which means it has the lowest toxicity out there! Purple may have a faint “new mattress smell” that comes off as “nutty or woodsy” at first, but it fades quickly.

Intertek has recently awarded Purple with the VOC CleanAir Gold Certification! Simply put, all Purple Products have passed all testing on minimal chemical off-gassing! Purple passed their test with flying colors – earning their highest level of Certification (Gold) – and this specifically covers our GelFlex Grid material.  Intertek’s Clean Air Certification confirms products certified will reduce health risks related to chemical exposure and will support regulatory agencies promoting minimal VOC exposure.
